#30SecondTake

I host the “30 Second Take” podcast; a fast-paced show that engages educators in conversation about important issues in education.  Each episode features several guest hosts who respond to a single guiding question in 30 seconds or less.  After each episode the conversation shifts to social media where educators can also vote for one guest host to return the following episode.  The voting and conversation are posted to the hashtag #30SecondTake on Twitter.  Click HERE for the RSS feed or subscribe via iTunes.

Three Leaders Making Videos

This podcast series is part of a cross-state collaborative project to bolster 21st century skills in schools while amplifying student voice.  Each episode highlights the perspective and sharing from students in Minnesota, New Jersey, and New York.  The podcast is co-created by three principals; John Fritzky, Dr. Tony Sinanis, and Dr. Brad Gustafson.  Most of the episodes feature additional opportunities for classrooms to interact on Twitter via the hashtag #StuConnect.

Principal’s Podcast Crew

Every school year I have the privilege of working with students to create weekly podcasts for our school E-News.  The podcasts are shared publicly on YouTube, Twitter, and through our school’s electronic Thursday Folder.  I can honestly say that this is always one of the highlights of my week.  We have a BLAST creating the podcasts and I embrace the responsibility of modeling digital leadership for students.  Here’s a copy of the Permission Slip and Press Pass we’ve used in the past in case you’d like to start a student podcast in your school! Check out the kids in action by clicking the screenshot below.

Education Talk Radio

I recently had the chance to catch up with Larry Jacobs on his podcast.  We talked about blogging, education, passion, and much more.  It was a ton of fun and I think I finally met somebody who has as much energy as I do!  A link to the podcast is HERE.

BrandED Radio Podcast

Dr. Joe Sanfelippo and Dr. Tony Sinanis host a podcast on the Bam Radio Network. Their passion and chemistry is palpable. I was able to share some stories about the wonderful work our team is doing on an earlier episode.  You can also catch a follow-up episode where we rejoined the BrandED crew live from the NAESP convention. (You’ll need a podcast app or Windows Media Player to listen to the show.)

Two Guys and Some iPads — Episode #11

Brad Waid and Drew Minock host an EdTech podcast that is tons of fun.  It was so great to connect with them and swap ideas about Augmented Reality (AR) in education.  At one point in the podcast I surprised them with the first-ever “AR Ambush!”  You’ve got to see it to believe it!

Techlandia — Episode #54

Jon Samuelson co-hosts a weekly educational technology podcast called Techlandia.  I had the chance to visit with the Techlandia crew to discuss collaboration and innovation.  Jon and his co-hosts even threw in some Minnesota trivia to personalize the show.

 PrincipalCast — Episode #28

Dr. Spike Cook, Jessica Johnson, and Theresa Stager host an educational leadership podcast called PrincipalPLN.  We had a blast discussing ideas and strategies to make the end of the school year successful for students and staff.  We also exchanged some neat Augmented Reality ideas too.

Transformative Principal — Episodes #69-70

Jethro Jones had the chance to visit our school this year to experience some of the work our teachers and students are doing.  A few weeks later he and I connected again on his podcast, The Transformative Principal.  It was great to reflect on his visit and answer some of the questions he generated as a result of visiting Greenwood Elementary.
